    Hi Sallymcconnel,

I haven't got much experience with Ubuntu myself but I have found an article that you may find helpful: https://help.ubuntu.com/7.04/interne...-internet.html

Please notify me if you still experience trouble setting your user name and I will gladly escalate this to a Linux engineer tomorrow morning.

firstly go to system then administrator then go to user and groups..
In user and groups search for root in root you have to search for ads or adm .
In ads or adm you need to add user name..

What are you trying to do?

Changing the ADSL username is done on the ADSL router, most common way is by accessing the router via your browser.

If your router is in bridge mode, you would probably have pppoeconf configured.

To change the username, just type

    sudo pppoeconf

in your terminal and run the wizard.
